Cancellation and Refund Policy

This policy applies to all donations made to Tranquil Light Foundation ("TLF") through tranquillight.org or its payment partners.

1. Donations Are Final

1.1
All donations made to TLF are voluntary contributions to a registered charitable organisation and are, as a rule, final and non-refundable.
1.2
By making a donation, you confirm that you are donating voluntarily and that you do not expect any goods, services, or personal benefit in exchange for the donation, beyond what is permitted under applicable law for a charitable donation.

2. Accidental or Duplicate Donations

2.1
Notwithstanding clause 1, we recognise that genuine errors can happen. We will consider a refund request in the following limited cases:
  • Duplicate donation — the same donation amount was charged more than once for the same intended single contribution due to a technical issue
  • Incorrect amount — the donation amount entered was clearly erroneous (for example, an extra digit), and the donor demonstrates the intended amount
  • Unauthorised transaction — the donation was made from your payment instrument without your authorisation, and you have raised the matter with us and with your bank or card issuer in a timely manner

To qualify under clause 2.1, the refund request must be made in writing to tlf@tranquillight.org within 7 days of the date of the donation, and must include: donor name, date and amount of the donation(s), transaction ID or reference from the payment confirmation, and a brief explanation of the reason.
2.3
Refunds are at the sole discretion of TLF. We may seek reasonable additional information to verify the request before approving or declining it.

3. Processing of Approved Refunds

3.1
Approved refunds will be initiated within 7 business days of approval.
3.2
Refunds will be made to the original payment method used at the time of donation. The time for the funds to reflect in your account depends on your bank, card issuer, or payment method, and is typically 5 to 10 business days from the date of initiation.
3.3
Payment gateway and bank charges, if any, may be deducted from the refund amount where the gateway or bank does not return them to us.

4. Donation Receipts and Tax Benefits

4.1
Where a refund is issued, the corresponding donation receipt (if any) will be cancelled. You agree not to claim, and to reverse, any tax benefit in respect of a refunded amount.
4.2
80G receipts (where applicable) are issued only after the donation has cleared and is not subject to a pending refund or dispute.

5. No Cancellation of Delivered Outcomes

5.1
Once donated funds have been deployed for rescues, veterinary treatment, shelter support, or other charitable activities, those outcomes cannot be undone. Refunds will not be granted on the basis that the donor changed their mind after the funds have been put to use.

6. Changes to This Policy

6.1
Tranquil Light Foundation reserves the right to modify, update, or replace this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time at its sole discretion, without prior notice.
6.2
The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
